BathRec encompasses a wide range of organised clubs, which have open membership and welcome enquiries from any new or experienced players. The Clubs which use BathRec are detailed below:

Bath Rugby  

BathRec is the home of Bath Rugby, one of the oldest rugby clubs in existence.  Founded in 1865, Bath Rugby has been playing rugby on the Recreation Ground since 1894.

In addition to the Club’s matches, Bath Rugby and Bath Rugby Foundation run many of their Community programmes and activities for children and young people from BathRec.

Bath Sports & Leisure Centre

Bath Sports and Leisure Centre is also a key tenant of Bath Recreation Ground. Operated by Aquaterra on behalf of Bath and North East Somerset Council, the Centre provides a comprehensive programme of sports, exercise and activities to help everyone achieve a healthy lifestyle with swimming and gym facilities as well as a sports hall for different team sports and exercise classes.

Bath Croquet Club

Bath Croquet Club operate 4 full sized lawns at the Recreation Ground.   The Club is a member of the South West Federation of Croquet Clubs and competes in 5 different Leagues.   It also hosts National competitions and runs its own internal matches and monthly tournaments.

Bath Drama Club

Bath Drama is one of the most successful drama groups in the City and utilises the club house at the BathRec for their rehearsals.   The Club produce four shows annually encompassing modern drama, pantomime, classics and outdoor productions.

Bath Lacrosse Club

Bath Lacrosse Club plays its home matches on the Recreation Ground.  The Club is the oldest current club team in the West of England and has played at BathRec since 1985.   The Club welcomes anyone from beginners to experts and has produced a brochure providing details on the game which can be accessed here.

Bath Mini Rugby

Bath Mini Rugby play at the Recreation Ground on Sunday mornings from September to April; the club has been in existence since 1973 and coach boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 12 and plays home fixtures at BathRec.

The Recreation Ground has four grass tennis courts, currently used by Southdown and Spa Lawn Tennis Clubs. The courts are also available for individual bookings for play during the summer; please contact admin@bathrec.co.uk.
